The annual winter festival hosted by Late Bloomer Productions has come and gone, this year billed as the 2007 Endangered Film Festival and held at the always enjoyable Hollywood Theatre. All of us at LBP are happy with how it all came together. We had some great food, plenty to drink, and the festival programs highlighted some very talented local filmmakers! There were many a short film well-received and well-praised. And although the crowd was a little small for the space at the Hollywood, they were an enthusiastic bunch and most stayed for the entire festival.

   

LBP plans to host a 3rd Annual Film Festival in the winter of 2007/2008 so stay tuned for details on that event throughout the year. Also coming up this summer is a series of short films projected on the City of Portland and numerous locations. For more information or if you are interested in screening a film, contact us.

The 2007 Endangered Film Festival!

On February 1st, 2007, from 4pm until 11pm, the Hollywood Theatre will be hosting on both upstairs screens an exciting day of rarely-seen short films, beverages, and good eats.

All-access, all-day admission will be $5. Come enjoy some of the best that local filmmakers have to offer!

12/15/2006.   Here are some upcoming projects for Late Bloomer Productions:
  • Ghosts on the Road - A traveling documentary exploring the unique community stories across our nation. Currently, this project will travel to 16 states in 30 days in Spring of 2007.
  • To Russia with Love - A short dip into the Russian underground of music, drugs, and mafia.
  • Control - An experimental documentary investigating women in controlling relationships. Delving into both women who decide to leave them and women who consciously decide to stay in them.

Additionally, we are gearing up from a 2007 festival, an anniversary of last year's event, so look for more information about that soon! It will be an all-day festival of filmmaking.

A lot of gears are turning and some exciting productions will soon begin for Late Bloomer. Check back soon, as we're updating and finalizing our webpage and data almost daily at this point.


   

Late Bloomer Productions is a Portland, Oregon-based independent film production company started in February 2005 by multimedia producer Wendy Jo Downing. Since then LBP has produced many great short narratives and documentaries. We also handle event and media planning, and have delved into teaching classes and workshops.
